Generations
The increasing acceptance of whole body donation is vital to the research and development of new surgical instruments and techniques in addition to the study and treatment of injuries.
Whole body donation is an essential step in the on-going educational process of physicians. It is through the generosity of individuals who donate their bodies to science for medical education that in depth study of the human body can be conducted by members of the medical community. Because of whole body donation, countless individuals enjoy a better quality of life.
The success of MERIN-hosted training programs depends on access to cadavers. Through Generations: An Anatomical Donation Program, MERIN educates the public on the importance of whole body donation as an option following death and the role their donation can play in medical advances, patient safety, and the overall improvement in the quality of health care delivery.
